This is an American landscape I came across on a spring afternoon in Skagit County, Washington, west of the Cascade Mountains. The territory is known for it's agricultural trade, and especially for it's May tulip festival. The sign in the corner, which I though added a quirk to the shot is original, it plainly says "WHEAT". In the distance a farmer is sowing his spring seed. Deep underground in the rich soil of the Pacific Northwest sustanance for another year will sprout forth.
