Here is the deceptively beautiful Northern Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia purpurea) with its accompanying fairy friend, waiting to devour an unsuspecting bug! I chose this plant for the Carnivorous Plants show because I wanted something that looked a little unusual and not the typical carnivorous plant I would think of, and I have never seen this type before I looked it up. It looks more “flowery” than most which goes along perfectly with my ever-present subject, fairies. It was painted with M. Graham watercolors on Fabriano Uno watercolor paper.
