Absolve is the first work in a series about the abstraction of language. The image is text that has been manipulated using a computer program, to create an abstract object that shows indications of dimensionality. The picture plane allows for some creative interpretations of volume, space, and form. Creating and manipulating three-dimensional structures that would be impossible to reproduce in real world settings. Working this way I am able to distort, and show the plastic nature of representing space on a flat surface. I can push and pull it anyway I want.
Absolve was printed on an Epson 2200, on Matte Heavyweight Paper. With rich dense blacks and bright highlights this work has a remarkable sense of depth. The quality of the blacks even surpasses the blacks achieved from my first love, lithography. Framed with Tru-Veiw conservation clear glass to protect those colors from shifting, and extend the already long life of the work. (Epson guarantees 80 years.) Matted with thick 8ply mat board! And a flat black frame. Ready to hang!
Absolve was created to be digital output. This piece is by no means a reproduction of an existing work of art. 100% original. The file has been destroyed, after one printing. I keep precise records and if sold a copy of these records will be included, along with a certificate of authenticity.
