This 12" x 16" painting is done on Arches 140 lb. Cold Press watercolor paper with Winsor and Newton watercolors. 'The Rotograveur' depicts the hustle and bustle on Fifth Ave. and 42nd Street on a snowy day in New York City in 1904. It is based on a very old black and white photograph that I had found stuck in the back of a National Georgraphic. It made me wonder "What is their story and where are they hurrying off to?" I realized people over a century ago where not much different than we are today with our busy lives.
