This painting is the outgrowth of a simple sketch I had made one evening at the dinner table of a concept I could not get out of my mind. It felt so right to me that I had to transfer it onto canvas. The "mother and child" or "madonna and child" theme holds a prominent place in art history and many original variations have been portrayed by artists throughout the ages. This simple acrylic rendering on canvas is a representation of my personal vision.
