Another one of my strange mermaids. They may not be considered beautiful by our standards but to other mer-people they are. Done in colored pencils and inks with beautiful purples and chartreuse. She carries an absinthe filled crystal ball considered a treasure under the sea...(-:

My depiction of mermaids is not the average. Most mermaid paintings look more human. Gives the feeling of calm, silence, and the fantastic. These belong more in the aquatic world with their airholes and gills, than out. Each mermaid has it's own unique markings. One of a kind!

This is one of my "Mermaid Series." Most of these miniature artworks take me a minimum of 2-3 hours to make.
