This is my most recent self portrait. It took me over a year to complete and was a very deep and explorative experience. At some points during the process I was not in a happy place in my life and the appearance of the portrait reflected that. I finally finished, and was pleased with the painting, when my life was going well and that sense of peace could finally be realistically shown in the painting.
