This is about my friend Cara's grandmother. She is telling Cara a story about when she was a little girl in Texas. She worked in the fields and at the age of six years old, she would prepare the mid-day meal for her family. It's a cute story and a true one too. This woman is a triumph not only because she existed and survived difficult times, but because she has the ability to share her experiences in a maternal way that makes us humble and pleased to know her.
