A mother mermaid and her baby share a tender moment in this pyrograph showing the love of a mother and child. I love mermaid art, and wanted to do something with a mother and child, so I combined the two, and this is the result. This was one of two motherhood and mermaids pyrographs I did. Tender moment is a mix of pyrography and oil pencil, the color being added in light washe after the sketch has been burned into the wood and shaded with a shading tip. The grain of the alderwood shows through the oil pencil and gives a very different look .
