The lovely magnolia is the state flower of Louisiana. Magnolia blossoms are one of my favorites. First of all, because they are one of the first blossoms you see on the trees, and second, because they are so luscious and pink.

This image was taken at a park on an overcast day. I love shooting on gray days because it makes colors really "pop" and you don't get those overexposed images. I normally prefer to use my SLR camera when taking nature shots, but I only had my digital handy on this particular day. I was pleased with the result.

This was taken using my Nikon Coolpix digital camera. No additional effects were added and no filter was used.
