"WOW" that is what Dorothy said when she bent down and saw these ruby red high heels instantly appear on her feet. She is on the yellow brick road and she is stylin.
I was one of those that grew up watching Wizard Of Oz. I remember when it came out just once a year. You couldn't record it, you didn't have VHS or DVD's. You couldn't rewind it, and you couldn't pause it to go to the bathroom, and the televisions had tubes, not chips...(-:
When I was a kid the most exciting part was when the house dropped down on the Wicked Witch of the East and Dorothy opened the door and everything was in COLOR! After all these years I have refused to buy the movie because it makes it more special to wait for that once or twice a year that they show it.
It's funny, you see tons of artwork for Alice In Wonderland but not so much for Wizard Of Oz.
My favorite art to do is the humorous, macabre, and surreal. I like it when my work makes people smile, take a double take, or think it's strange in a weird sort of way. I hope this Dorothy makes you smile...just a little...Sherry
Original was illustration done in colored pencils and ink on bristol paper. On this artwork my original illustration has been enhanced with bright green and bubbles, (like in the Emerald City) and extra shine added to the red heels, with digital brushes.
