This was a portrait commission by a loving grandmother because her love burns as strongly for her dear grandbaby who lived for only six hours. I was so very touched by her gesture, especially because they lost her 5 years previous to my encounter with her. The reference I worked from was a combination of about 9 photos in order to create a garden scene in spring with her mother's hands holding her up in the foreground. A morning scene as if the heavens are smiling down on her and maybe welcoming her.
