Mack The Knife was made popular by Bobby Darin in 1958, but was recorded first by Louis Armstrong. While recording the track he improvised and added the name of Lotte Lenya to the list of women who fall for Mackie Messer. It's always been one of my favourites and this painting pays tribute to Satchmo's amazing rendition.
