Artist's Profile

Painting is my favourite means of creative expression. I use largely acrylics, spray paint, oil paint sticks, polymers and even house paint to create images and compositions that reflect my personal views, thoughts and emotions. In spite of my sensitivity, there is a definite masculinity to my finished works. As the form crystallises, different aspects become apparent and gain a life of their own. I have a preference for large canvases, upon which I can unleash my colours into life as bright, vivid compositions. Oftentimes I bypass using brushes altogether and just allow my hands to shower colours upon the gesso, mold paint into shapes and bring it together into composition.

Painting is a passion and a welcome addiction. After conquering my freedom from morbid obesity, I found that my spirits were far more elevated and I was able to devote more time to it. Little did I know it would eventually become my way of life. My childhood appreciation of Jackson Pollock, Picasso and Van Gogh was the beginning of it all, and as an adult my interest in Jean-Michel Basquiat brought me to new levels of sophistication. There was power in Basquiat, a talent which I felt flowed so naturally that I was easily influenced by his work.

My time in Hollywood represented a period of discovery when my art was no longer kept a secret and I made powerful connections and great progress in my profession of choice. I am now and forever a professional artist. I will never stop painting.

It’s an addiction, you know!
