The inspiration for the series is my father's childhood exile from his beloved home reflecting the constant (often forced) migrations of our ancestors.
Traditionally, our people made art very small or worked in textiles. Compact or rolled objects are easier to travel with. In the desert or on the road, resources are scarce and all materials valuable. The tiniest of fragments considered to be a treasure, scraps and discards given new life as evocative and decorative works of art.
