Art: Gopi by Artist Aria Nadii
Krishna and Radha take refuge from the noon heat in the shade of a tree. They are the eternal lovers. Krishna represents the divine, and his flute symbolizes the call of the divine to each individual soul.

Radha is Krishna's mystical lover, and she stands for the human desire to unite with the divine. She is a "gopi" -- a village maid -- and as such illustrates that there is no elite when it comes to communion. All are welcome, regardless of their station in life.

"Gopi" is comprised of layers of vintage papers, oil glazes, and delicate ink drawings, a technique and style inspired by traditional Indian miniatures and the palimpsest of Medieval manuscripts.
