This week's theme: Think Pink

This is EBSQ's second Think Pink show to benefit The Susan G Komen Foundation. Our first was in October, 2007. Just like last week, this week's EBSQ Art of the Day will share some of the art from our first Think Pink exhibition. All of this year's wonderful art and a link to support EBSQ's Passionatly Pink Team at Susan G. Komen for the Cure can be found at Think Pink - An EBSQ Exhibit to Benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation: October 2009.

Art: Summer Lotus Garden by Artist Amy J.
As a somewhat eclectic spiritualist I tend to be most drawn to Hinduism because it jives with my love for science. Likewise, when science frustrates me and can't give me answers, the meditation and self-contemplation of meditation and transcendence make me feel balanced. I've dealt with a lot of loss in my life, a lot of bad news and in the last year I have dealt with quite a few things. The first part of this year saw my cousin Tonia helping me through some very hard things. Now she is dealing with the recurrence of her cancer and I'm not in a position to go be with her so I'm venting my feelings of impotence through my art. Some of the pieces turn out really beautiful, some turn out kind of dark and twisty. This is one of the more beautiful ones. Because it has the spectacular pinks in it I felt it belonged in this show, and I love it so much, I'm reminded to slow down, take a breath and not take life too seriously! XXOOXX Tonia - DO NOT GO GENTLE!
