This is EBSQ's second Think Pink show to benefit The Susan G Komen Foundation. Our first was in October, 2007. For the next two weeks, EBSQ's Art of the Day will share some of the art from our first Think Pink exhibition. All of this year's wonderful art and a link to support EBSQ's Passionatly Pink Team at Susan G. Komen for the Cure can be found at Think Pink - An EBSQ Exhibit to Benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation: October 2009.
This piece just jumped out at me for this show, hard to say exactly why. Recently, I had gone to the Lemay Car Collection Museum in Tacoma and had seen some beautiful cars. Wanting something whimsical because that's my impression of Pink at times I came up with this truck and the title.
If your a woman and you wear pink it is not a big deal. It may be a big part of your wardrobe, people notice but rarely comment. This reality is set on it's ear if you are a man and you wear pink.
Everytime I choose this romantic color heads turn and people comment. "You must be secure in your masculinity" they may say or "real men wear pink" and some may say other unmentionables.
Imagine the immensity of this statement on a semi truck rig!
Have you seen it?
Could you drive it? How about you?
