This piece was a prototype for squeaky dog toys, and it is based on one of my paintings, "Blue Dog Contemplates a Fireplug" (see photo below). It is stitched by hand, and features bright orange contrast stitching against a striking azure blue "fur". There is a squeaker inside (what dog toy is complete without a squeaker?), and although this project has been temporarily put on hold, I do plan on making more based on the characters in my art. Yes, that includes cats!
