This piece began as a pencil study for a painting and ended up a very detailed drawing of mother and infant in that peaceful moment when baby's breathing slows down to the rythym of the heart beating beneath his tiny head... I don't know who experiences more bliss at that moment, but I am convinced that if I didn't have the opportunity to spend so much time painting and drawing babies- I'd have a lot more myself!!! Having said that, the minute pencil work in this piece took me about sixteen hours to complete!
