Light Breaks Chair SOLD

- by Vicky Helms

This week's theme: Light

Of little weight, demands little exertion, a source of light, a device that uses light as a signal, a source of fire, to ignite, to burn, spiritual illumination, understanding, not dark in colour; fair, in consideration of, coffee taken with cream.

Art: Light Breaks Chair SOLD by Artist Vicky Helms
Brought my daughter to school and coming back saw this incredible chair on the curb to be thrown away. It was raining but I scooped up the chair, repaired it and made it my baby. The "Light Breaks" poem is from Dylan Thomas. I read it many years ago and am still trying to understand it. "Light breaks where no sun shines. Where no sea runs, the waters of the heart push in their tides." It became the chair.
