The original image, from which these birds were taken, was shot at the Milwaukee Zoo, using a vintage Minolta CLE with a rangefinder lens. This camera was made in 1981 and I took many glorious shots with it before it's life ended in the Gulf of Mexico as I stooped down to shoot some sea anemones. Unfortunately, this was not one of the better shots, but I wanted to do something with birds, so I cut them out in Photoshop, enhanced their color, then duplicated and rotated a couple of them so they're facing the other direction. I used a kitchen scene from a 1950's Better Homes and Gardens magazine as the background, dotted images around the room of the very same flamingos that are the focal point of this collage, added a bouquet to the table, and gave them a story to tell. I've included the original photo so you can see the actual birds.
Enjoy!
