This is an original prisma color drawing on Canson Mi Tientes acid free black art paper. It measures 22 x 28 inchesl. This picture was done just days after my little brother and nephew were shipped out to Iraq. This was a very emotional time for our entire family and for me, my artwork was quite theraputic. I wanted them to be safe while they were at war, so I created "Someone to Watch Over Me" for the two of them. I wanted to show the strength, power, and majestic nobility in the eagle with his keen sense of eyesight because as our national bird, it represented our country and what my brother and nephew were fighting for. Every time I would feel scared for the two of them and all of the other boys over there, I would look at this picture and feel safer somehow. I would look into this eagles eye and pray that they'd be watched over and come home safely. I needed to see its strength to help me get through.
