Scheherazade's Mystery Artisan Necklace

Like Scheherazade herself, this necklace is not for the timid or shy, this is a showpiece which demands attention!

"NOW during this time Scheherazade had borne the King three boy children, so when she had made an end of the story, she rose to her feet and kissing ground before him, said, "O King of the Time and unique one of the Age and the Tide, I am thine handmaid, and these thousand nights and a night have I entertained thee with stories of folk gone before and admonitory instances of the men of yore. May I then make bold to crave a boon of thy Highness?" He replied, "Ask, O Scheherazade, and it shall be granted to thee." "Arabian Nights'' in the translation of Sir Richard Francis Burton

As an intricately framed window opens to a starlit night, A Gorgeous Denim Blue Lapis Cabochon is Framed Beautifully in a Handmade Sterling Silver Bezel with a Glowing Dark Blue Sapphire at the top and is matched with an amazing array of Natural Lapis Disc Beads and Bali Fine Silver Tube and Fine Silver Round Beads, all lovingly strung into this incredible three strand necklace, a strand for each of her beautiful sons, is finished with stunning Fine Silver Bali Beads and Ornate Fine Silver Cones.

I like to imagine the the King gazing into a Lapis Blue Night Sky while enthralled with the Scheherazade's Amazing Stories of the 1,001 Arabian Nights.

This Necklace measures 22 inches in length with the Pendant adding an additional 2 inches to this exquisite piece of wearable art.

My favorite choice of silver beads is from Bali, a small island in the Indonesian archipelago. Each Bali silver bead is a work of art, carefully made with exquisite detail by the silversmiths that have practiced their artistic traditions from generation to generation.

Lapis Lazuli or just Lapis is mostly Lazurite but commonly contains both Pyrite and Calcite. The name means blue rock and is always a brilliant blue with violet or greenish tints. The rich blue color is due to the sulfur that is inherent in the structure of Lazurite. In a piece of jewelry the small crystals of pyrite found in lapis blend with the setting, looking like gold in a gold setting and silver in a silver setting, giving the stone a personality all its own.

The best source of lapis is in the remote mountains in Afghanistan. It is also found in Chile and in lesser quantities elsewhere.

It was first mined (in Afghanistan) over 6000 years ago. The rock was transported to Egypt and present day Iraq and later to Europe where it was used in jewelry and for ornamental stone. It was even ground down and used for paint.

Lapis is one of the oldest spiritual stones known, it was used mainly by priests and royalty in ancient Egypt. Many believe that the Biblical Sapphire was actually Lapis Lazuli. Through the ages, Lapis has been associated with Power, Wisdom, Love, and most frequently as a Stimulator for Psychic Abilities.

It is believed to stimulate inner vision, give enhanced wisdom, insight and good judgment.

A truly Unique One-of-a-Kind wearable work of art by Lisa's UnicOrnamentals, there will never be another one quite like it - at least in this universe!
