Portrait of the extraordinary Sheherezad, teller of 1001 nights of tales. Her recounting of these tales, often called THE ARABIAN NIGHTS, earned her the respect of her husband and the right to keep her head. A shrewd and gifted woman to be sure. Sharing the light of her talent brought great light to her life, to those around her, and through the centuries to those who still enjoy her wonderful stories. They were amongst my favourites as a child. This image started out as an abstract fractal image. Physical alterations brought about a symmetrical abstract. With digital paint tools I added the facial features.
