"Getto Pecasso" is what his friends named him because to them he seemed a Picasso (famous painter) of the ghetto. He lives on the wrong side of the tracks in East Hartford. He paints exceptionally well and is trying to move beyond a hard past. He has his eyes on the prize. I think he has the strength and the will to get there. Picasso, indeed.

When I do a portrait, to me it's not enough to just know what someone looks like. People are so much more than their features. They are what and who they love. They reflect their surroundings. I try not to just capture what they look like, but who they ARE. I hope I do you the justice you deserve, Harold.
