This is the first of the portraits I am working on of artist Carissa M. Martos. She seems happily married, is a full time mom with two kids, and is a full time caretaker for her brother as well. She is also going to school working on her MA. Then with all that free time she has, she works on her art.

I used pastels, acrylics, colored pencils, ink and just about everything but the kitchen sink...to bring out the brightness in her beautiful blue-grey eyes and to get rid of the shadows and make her look like she has a little pep in her step instead of being so tired. She looks a lot brighter and cheerful now.
