There are so many varieties of sunflowers! I chose to depict three up close and personal partial views of the large open-faced traditional. This is the one that pops into my mind when I hear the word 'sunflower'. I opted to mount the three 8" x 8" floating panels with velcro on a separate 12" x 36" panel of brilliant blue so that each one could be detached and hung individually if desired. Painting three views showcases the individual characteristics of the flower while imparting the feeling of a group, as this friendly flower likes company. Appropriately Kansas has this cheerful sun lover as it's state flower.
