Alliums by any other name would be--GARLIC! The "stinky rose" makes a beautiful flower, usually a mauve or lavender, but sometimes a gorgeous magenta.
I painted a giant allium, just a few of the blossoms against the bluish foliage. The colors include orchid, periwinkle, sky blue (opaques), ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, permanent transparent brown, phthalo green, cadmium orange and cadmium red, and quinacridone magenta. Painted on 140 lb Kilmanjaro white watercolor paper.
