Bits of text used in mixed media pieces that you can't quite read add to the mystery - the viewer can fill in the details by imagining all kinds of scenarios. I love old maps especially, the names of places I've never been and the name of places I've been a million times. Maps that were used by people who are long dead, with names of places that may no longer exist either, or that have changed so much since the maps were drawn that they would be unrecognizable to the maker of the map. The text in pieces like this is meant more to inspire imagination than to provide information.
