Sometimes having a "failed" painting is an opportunity to cut loose and experiment. This was such a case. Because I felt I had nothing to loose, I took some gesso and house paint and a large brush and went a bit wild. It was a fun and freeing experience.
I ended up extending my "play" time to several other failed canvases as well....all in all, it was a great day in the studio!
I ended up with a whimsical abstract that has the suggestion of calligraphy. As far as I know, the shape has no meaning, other than I find it a fun study of composition, color and negative space.
