I love working with different types of paper. I was cleaning my closet...I found these old pieces of washi and tissue paper I had a large canvas that I was getting ready to paint but I started layering the different colors of paper over the canvas glueing each piece over each other. I started to see forms taking place with the various colors and I thought how festive by then I had just finish eating a chocolate kiss so I took the tin foil and pasted it to the paper ....."Fiesta" was born. I had been going through a heavy bout of depression so this had been a part of my soul that had been trying to come out...bright, bold and happy...... I can say when I was creating this I had no conception of where the paper would wind up and I didn't care.....but after this abstract was finished within a couple of days...the depression broke....and I could see other things going on in the mixed media piece. I felt that a true Fiesta had taken place inside.
