I watched George Bush's speech yesterday in which he announced that we would be going to war in Iraq. I have always been opposed to any kind of violence. I had painted the sun and the water in this painting during an afternoon which promised Spring here in the northeast, and the sky in the evening during the speech. The sky has a rather ominous feeling to it as compared to the lightness of feeling in the rest of the painting. This watercolor measures 14"X10" and is rendered on Arches 140 lb. cold press paper. The colors are a very close approximation to those on the original painting and may vary slightly from the original, depending on how you have your monitor adjusted.
