I titled this piece after the lyrics from a Pearl Jam song called "Footsteps." The nameless creature in the piece is simultaneously weighed down, yet uplifted by her heavy wings. I am still not sure if the pillar on which she is crouching is giving way beneath her, or if it is in rising from below. She is my own personal puzzle.
