Inspiration for this piece was derived from this past week's AOTD theme "quilts". The amazing quilts gave me the idea of making a digital quilt for the pyracantha show.

The quilt was built by first making twelve individual squares with a design, then the pyracantha berries were layered in for the centers of the edge squares. The centerpiece was constructed of two different bunches of berries to make the four corners as well as two differently sized smaller group of berries for the very center. The entire piece was "stiched together" digitally with various borders and brush designs and/or patterns. Slight imperfections in edging and trim, along with an overall texture, give it a more authentic 'quilted' look.
