A Red-Bellied Woodpecker works feverlishly on a new nest, if you look closely you can see the woodchips flying around him. He was very shy and it took several attempts over 3 days to capture this image of him showing the woodchips in mid-air, produced from his noisy nest building. I used a Canon 30D outfitted with a Canon 300mm F4 L lens mounted on a tripod. The photo was then printed using an Epson 2200 printer on Red River Satin paper.
