This bird definitely has something to say about being your own person, or in this case, bird. I love close cropping and love to crop my photos close up for portraits. I wanted his beak to be the focal point for this painting. I seem to gravitate toward the non-traditional in all my work. This bird definitely has attitude.
I used sgraffito to show the scratches on his beak.
This is a Yellow-Knobbed Curassow.
