Criticality

Art: Criticality by Artist Rebecca M Ronesi-Gutierrez
This painting is NOT for sale.
It is held in private collection for public display.

As I venture into a new chapter in my life, my artistic success has never become more important.

This new chapter includes a deeper artistic vision then I have ever had before.   It has opened my mind to new mediums and an overflow of creativity.  With this I am creating less art, but more involved art with very expensive materials.

This is the second painting in my new "Slurry & Resin 2012 series"
I have been perfecting my "slurry" over the past year and it is how I achieve the floating translucent effect on the canvas.  Also, I know it's been around quite awhile, but I am infatuated with epoxy resin.  I use it to spread over the entire canvas.  This enables me to encapsulate objects into my paintings.  It's hard to see in photos, but it's like putting a think piece of glass over the painting and it make the colors absolutely brilliant.

This painting is titled "Criticality"
If you have been following my career you know that I am obsessed with science.
So what is "Criticality" def per wiki: When a nuclear chain reaction in a mass of fissile material is self-sustaining, the mass is said to be in a critical state in which there is no increase or decrease in power, temperature or neutron population.
I saw a historical documentation about this last week and I was immediately inspired.
I hope you love this as much as I did creating it. Hours upon hours have been invested into this new creation.  It will be hard to let it go...but I have to feed my children.

Critically is multicolored with rich metallic tones, real naturally expired dragonfly wings, micro metal balls, marble dust, feathers (the fibrous looking black/hot pink/red material), genuine gold, silver and copper leaf, three silver dragonflies.  It will match in any room.

This canvas is very heavy.  I recommend extra support on your wall when hanging.
The side are painted satin black.
The canvas is coated in double thick layer of epoxy resin glaze.
 Enjoy.
