The Minstrels bodies are slab constructed. Each scale was individually applied. The fins were created with slabs of clay thrown on a corrugated surface. The base was hand shaped. The fish were sprayed with oxides to create a base colour then spray glazed with a clear gloss glaze and fired to cone 6. A Mother of Pearl overglaze was applied post glaze firing and this was then low fired. There are five Rainbow Minstrels in total. Two Minstrels are in my private collection, Bass & Tenor. The other three, all Alto harmony singers, are in private collections here in Ontario, Canada. RUTH J JAMIESON
