My entry for the EBSQ "Ripped Off" Art Show -- as influenced by fellow EBSQ artist Darlene Russell's painting of the same title....

I found myself attracted to Darlene's painting -- a stark, muted winter landscape. Because I so often am drawn to color, I wanted to work in a softer palette.

As a Midswesterner, I always look forward to the first snow of the season (as well as the last)......
