"Where Be Your Gibes Now?": Hamlet Tribute

Art: Where Be Your Gibes Now?: Hamlet Tribute by Artist Patience
When contemplating painting an entry for the Daily Paintwork's (an online art community) 'Skull and Skeletons" art challenge, I really knew there was but one direction for me to go.  My favorite of all Shakespeare's works is his play "Hamlet".  I've long been wanting to compose a personal tribute to this amazing classic tale, and here this was the perfect motivator......:

"Where be your gibes now? Your gambols? Your songs? Your flashes of merriment that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now to mock your own grinning....?"

Here we see Hamlet, after being confronted in the graveyard scene with the skull of his old court jester, Yorick, contemplating mortality: "To be, or not to be.....".   My 'Hamlet' as portrayed here is actually my handsome son in real life.  We read Hamlet together years and years ago -- I think he will appreciate the connection....
