My entry for the April 2012 Nibblefest Art Contest, the theme for April being 'Reptiles'.  My piece features a young girl communing with two 'turtle' doves.....

I admit when I first realised the theme for this month, my heart sank a little.  It's not that I don't like reptiles, animal lover that I am -- I'm sure they're fine.  It's just that I wasn't finding the subject matter terribly personally inspiring.  So I was dragging my feet a bit on this one -- at one point even (briefly) considering not participating this month.  That is, until the idea of 'turtle DOVES' popped into my head when I was ruminating about turtles.  Now there was a concept I could run with....!
