"Toto Too"
My
entry for May's Nibblefest Art Contest (NFAC), the theme being "Pet Animals", entitled "Toto Too", features a wee portrait painted in
loving tribute to what surely be one of the most beloved pets in
literary and cinematic history, "Toto", from the 'Wizard of Oz'....
Painted
in oils upon a 5 x 7.25" found oval wooden plaque

My
entry for this month's Nibblefest probably doesn't need all that much
intro. With a straightforward theme like "Pet Animals", it wasn't such a
stretch to think up some of my favorite pop-cultural pets. And so here
we have dear little "Toto", from the movie 'Wizard of Oz', along with
his mistress, Dorothy Gale. Dorothy has a few iconic "Oz" elements in
her background: a Tornado, the Yellow Brick Road..., in addition to a
Rainbow, as painted upon and following the sides of the oval plaque.
(See photos for side shots)....
Here's hoping you enjoy my entry as much as I did painting it...!
