One of my entries for the April 2012 Nibblefest Art Contest (NFAC), the
theme being 'Reptiles',
is an original acrylic painting on vellum, mounted
permanently onto a round, 5" diameter piece of wood.
Ah, 'Reptiles'. I must confess I wasn't so terribly enthusiastic about this month's theme at first. Not
that I have anything against critters of reptilian nature, but I guess
coming up with an appealing concept featuring our cold blooded friends
was leaving me... Well? Cold! That is, until the idea of Medusa sprang to mind while contemplating 'snakes'. Finally, an idea I could really sink my teeth into! (so to speak ;-)...My Medusa is both beautiful as well as terrifying, with her snake-y locks and icy gaze capable of turning a man to stone....
