A piece I donated to a charity art sale, to benefit a\our local animal shelter....

What is that old adage...."If wishes were fishes, we'd all cast our nets"...?  (Though I personally prefer "If wishes were fishes, we'd eat them on dishes....").  To me, it's always been a commentary of the fruitlessness of the mere coveting of things that are out of our reach, without taking any sort of meaningful steps to actually fulfill those desires.  We may 'wish' all we want -- but all dreams and no action never takes anyone very far.....
