The concept of female power is evident in much of India's literature, particularly in religious texts such as the Bhagavad Gita. The Mother Goddess is supremely divine in Indian culture, and her likeness can be seen there in myriad forms. She is known by many names, including Devi, Shakti, Mahimata, Durga, and more. My rendition of the Mother Goddess for the most part is inspired by Mahalakshmi. In this role, the Mother Goddess has four arms and bears the lotus flower.
