Shakespeare's doomed Ophelia - the tragic heroine from
Hamlet. Having plunged into insanity, Ophelia has collected wildflowers
(columbine, violets, pansies, etc. - all shown here, and true to the play) and has
drowned herself in sorrow and madness. I have shown her floating (lifelessly?)
with her flowers in the among the lilypads. One of my largest pieces, and one of my best - I'm very proud of this painting. 24"x30" acrylic paints on canvas.
