When invited to a rural Mediterranean farm years ago, part of the barnyard tour was a "must see" visit to the stall of a bull, famed for being a highly prized stud on the island. From a distance he looked enormous, and as I approached I could sense his stare, but he nonchalantly continued to munch on a few bits of hay. His stare never wavered, the closer I got, but when I reached the 6 or 7 foot mark, I decided that was close enough for me to get the shot.
His curly fuzzy forehead looked soft enough to give it a light pat, but even though he was harnessed within his stall and posed no threat, I decided that the photo would do to satisfy my curiosity.
It was that stare of "dare you" which haunts me to this day.
The photo was tweaked in Studio Artist , text and border added.
