This brown thrush had struck a window on the house and when I found him he was upside down. Stunned and not moving, I had time to retrieve my camera hoping that he would still be there when I returned. Luckily, he was, and proved to be an excellent model; he didn't move a feather and allowed me to get within inches of him, using a small digital camera. Upon recovering, and figuring he had earned his modeling fee, he flitted off to a branch on a nearby tree. The bird feeder was nearby, so he could help himself to a "recovery" snack.
The full side view was left untouched in order to appreciate the proximity to the bird and the surrounding blades of grass. New backgrounds were painted in for both front views with the head cocked first to one side, and then to the other.
