Art: tea leaves by Artist C. k. Agathocleous
6"x6" alkyd oil on archival panel If I don't like the composition of a painting, I can't enjoy the rest of it. Something just clicks for me when I lay it out the way I want it; just so. Feels so nice... I painted this piece with Winsor and Newton Griffin Alkyd oils on a Raymar archival canvas panel. I had a tacky underlayer of oil paint underneath it. Alkyds are almost as thin as acrylics, so I like an underpainting of acrylic or almost dry oil. This was done with a limited palette: titanium white, cadmium yellow light, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson and ultramarine blue.
